I attend a Souther Baptist Church but consider myself a non-denominational Jesus Christ following Chrisitian. I have attened several different Baptist Churches and never has it been taught in any of them that you have to be baptised to be saved. Baptisim in a Baptist Church is a response to being saved in following with your acceptance of the gift with an act of obediance. While it is not required it is encouraged to be a testimony of our renewed faith. It is used a symbolic act to represent the death of our old sinful life and the rebirth of a new clean walk with the Lord. Baptist believe that salvation comes only through the grace of God...

Nate | Thanks Nate for the post. You are right this post is mis-leading. What I should have said is this........."I heard that there is a denomination of baptists that says you must be baptized to be saved." I have never actually been in a church that teaches that. However, I did do some research and I couldn't find any baptist churches that taught that doctrine. Thank you so much for clarifying this post.....
God Bless
P.S. It is great to see you Nate. *Hugs* | | | | |
