Amen That is very true, also for any bad thoughts, interrupt them with Praise to God . . . . When you start to speak those praises, those thoughts are interrupted as well!

Swearing can be a problem for a lot of Christians, after all we are in the world, in the work place especially surrounded with a lot of non-Christians, many of whom think nothing of using the most propfane and offensive language.

Be encouraged though, you obviously don't think nothing of it, by recognising that you have a problem in this area you are in the very process of doing something about it, by thinking of the words that come out of your mouth you are addressing the problem.

Through prayer, praising and seizing hold of the fruit of the Spirit (self-control) you can master this. Be encouraged, you are on the way, soon you will find that some words just disappear from your vocabulary.

Being an ex-sailer I can attest to be fluent in speaking garbage. I worked on it a lot and still sometimes struggle if I hang out with someone who swears a lot for too long. I could make no headway whatsoever until someone said think that Jesus is beside you all day, while you work, when you are running late, when you stub your toe ... etc etc... that helped me to make a visual image of Christ looking at me. He's my buddy and I hate always falling short so then I made headway...

It helped me anyhoo. Oh, and pray too. But that goes for anything.
