I've been diagnosed with a major depressive disorder.
I am due to begin taking medication within a few weeks.

I believe this has been brought on by ongoing family problems.
Namely a problem with my parents I have been unable to resolve
for over 17 years. A problem involving interference in my affairs.

I have no support at all from other family members. I'm unable
to attend church for the same reason. My parents interference
causing great embarrassment. My life has just been wrecked by
this matter.

I believe I'm being abused.

I am sorry to hear that you are going through those problems. My family(mom and sister) have been doing the same to me as far as interferring. It has caused me to disown my sister and have as little to do with my mom as possible. But my whole family is like that. I have 1 person in my whole family that I can trust with my business and she lives 5 hours from here. If you need to vent, please feel free to PM me and we can email if you want. as a sufferer of depression myself i encourage you to find a bibical councler that you can talk to. there are many that work on sliding fee scales. your church may even have lay ones that are free.

I am so sorry to hear of your troubles with your family. I completely understand how it is to have such problems, many believe that the decisions I make, are foolish and that I only do things perhaps with the mentality of a little child, and not because I have a reason for doing that thing or making that particular decision.

I remember how you told us of the problems you had growing up, and I will be praying that your parents, your whole family, can see and understand that you are capable of handling your own decisions without their interference (though at times it is nice to have help, and ALL the time we need God's Help).

I again am sorry to hear that you, dearest friend and brother, are going through that trouble. I too offer my help, and an ear if ever you need or want to talk, or ask for help. If I can ever do anything to help, I will. God Bless you truly, brother.

I do have a christian counselor. She doesn't know what to do.
I have checked out a few things. My parents have no legal
rights over me. But I cannot do anything to get away without
them being able to come after me. My rights as an adult are
not being upheld at all. Even the police are required by law to
tell my parents where I am. This actually did happen. I left and
the police told them where I was. Against my wishes.

My father told them I'm mentally ill and he has legal guardianship
of me. This too is untrue.

I don't have a clue what to do. My family won't get involved. My counselor
can't. A mental health clinic won't. Adult protective services only offers help
to those 65 or older with physical handicaps. I can't go to local shelters for
help.

I just seem to be severely out of luck. I have tons of bad luck

i know when i was 18 and needed to move out of where i was living i was able to find a local youth outreach that had a home just for people in your's and my sitution.

Unfortunately I'm not a youth. 37 years old.
When I do talk to anyone at my church, they
tell me I live in sin by saying things about my
parents.

Will be praying for you. I have to get up real early tuesday morning, and have some thoughts to share, so will post them tuesday or wednesday evening. God bless you. With God on your side, I know you can overcome this, with God working with your counselor and the medications she will prescribe.
