Rep Power: 1 ![]() | I'm not certain whether I am posting this in the appropriate forum, but nevertheless... Every true Catholic longs to please God in this present life, and when life on earth is over, hopes to live in His company forever. It's a noble goal founded on their personal beliefs on God and how they seek to know Him. However, noble intentions and personal beliefs about God do not guarantee results...or eternal life. I urge you to clarify that your beliefs have solid foundation within the Bible. These questions will assist you in carrying this out. Whose word is truth? The Catholic Church teaches... The pope's word is truth. Quote:
Every word of God is true. Jesus prayed to God His Father... Quote:

Should we have sacred images? The Catholic Church teaches... Yes, we can have images. Quote:
No, we are not even to make sacred images! Quote:
Is the sacrifice of the cross to be continually offered? The Catholic Church says... Yes, it is. Quote:
One Person offered one sacrifice once for all and is now seated in glory. Quote:

The Catholic Church says... Priests are necessary. Quote:
All believers are part of the royal priesthood to bring praise to God and to serve Him faithfully. Quote:

The Catholic Church teaches... Salvation begins at baptism. Quote:
Faith in Christ alone will save you, not your good works! The work of reconcilation was completely finished by Jesus Christ when He died on the cross and rose again. Nothing we add to what God the Son has already done could merit God's favor. Quote:

The Bible says... Recognize that by nature you are a sinner and unrighteous. Quote:
Quote:
As a result, we are spiritually dead, separated from God, and condemned forever: Quote:
Acknowledge your need for salvation. Once and for all time Christ took the death penalty for your sins and the sins of the whole world: Quote:
Cry out to God for His free gift of salvation. Quote:

Rep Power: 1 ![]() | Thank you for sharing all of those points. One surely needs to realize that Heaven is not gained by doing good works alone. We have to die to self, so He can live in and by us. You may be the nicest person in the world but if you have not admitted you are a sinner and asked forgiveness, believe in Jesus and invite Him into your life, you are still not redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. |
