 | 2 Corinthians 3:4 “And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:”
Today the Word of God continues on from yesterday’s verse. As said in yesterday’s verse, verse 3, “Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart.” We see how much of a blessing is bestowed upon us! We are the very epistles of Christ, written with the Spirit of the Living God! And we are read of all men, to show the power and glory of the Lord our God, and our Saviour! We have the opportunity, the privilege, to show the glory of God, and His Work and power to forgive and change us! Even better, we are His handiwork! Where we go, we take the Gospel with us, wherever we go, we show in our lives, that Christ lives in us and that our Lord has bought us with a price! We are made the light to shine in the darkness! We are called the salt of the earth! All these things, we are a peculiar people who have been called by name, out of the world, to be a witness to the World of the glory of God, and of salvation! When I think about all this, I truly want to jump up and shout, praising God for the never-ending flow of blessings He grants to us every single day of our lives! To think, that we have been hand-picked by God above, called by name, brought to Christ, cleaned, forgiven, set free, given a new heart to replace our old and corrupt one, and given a new Spirit to replace the one that was once in power in our lives! And we have been made the epistle–letter–of Christ Himself. And an epistle that has not been written with ink, or etched in stone, but written with the Spirit of the Living God, and in the fleshly tables of the heart! Praise God!
And with this in our thoughts, as today’s verse says, we have such trust in God through Christ. Yet why? Look at the next verse, after today’s, “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;” Such trust we have in God, because such a blessing is not ours because we have made it in our own lives, but that God has blessed us so much, that we are able to be called witnesses and epistles of the Lord Jesus Christ! And this is a great blessing and gives us a great trust in Him. For if such a blessing came from our own will, and our own doing, we could very easily lose it if we don’t do something right! But with God as the source of so great a blessing, we can rest assured that the blessing is sound and complete. We can rest assured and know that if it comes from God, it produces so much good fruit, that none can make void! And we can also rest assured, and know, that when it comes from God, we as His children, need not to fear making a mistake and losing everything, then having to work ourselves back up, to the point which we will be able to gain such a thing back. Sure God does allow us to lose certain things due to our own disobedience, but God is also forgiving and grants us the ability to get back up from our fall, and as He wipes us up and cleans the dirt off our face, blesses us again, without our having to “make it up to Him.” Some things we may have to grow again to a point where we can handle the full blessing again. However, the blessing to be called the child of God, to be given the opportunity to witness to the world, to be called the elect of God, the epistle of our Lord, to have the very Spirit of the Living God dwell inside us . . . all this is given to us without merit but by the grace of our Lord, because we are His Children, clothed and brought to Him Through Christ our Saviour! So therefore, we have such a trust through Christ our Saviour, toward God, who is the giver of all blessings! Oh how Great God is, to bless us so much, that we are set apart and called unto Him, to be a witness to the Lost in this world!
I pray that we are blessed with continued help from our Father in heaven, to be proper witnesses of Him! May God Bless you each day, and guide you as you walk in His Spirit! I love you, and pray each day for you. Have a wonderful day in the Lord our God today! | |
