 | Romans 5:1-2 “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”
Yesterday in the Word of God we were reminded of the importance of doing all we can do to help the lost souls in this world, to know and understand the Truth of the Gospel of Christ Jesus. Today we continue on from the subject of Salvation, being reminded that being justified in Salvation, by faith, we have such a peace with God, and we now have access by faith into the grace of our Lord!
In this wicked world, there are so very many troubles and heartaches and pains. There are tribulations that come from every side! But with Jesus, only with our Lord and Saviour, we have peace with God! John 16:33 “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” Truly in this world there are so many hardships, and in all truth, there is no escape from such hardships, except we come to Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour. Yes, it’s true that many do continue living despite these hardships, even without Christ Jesus our Lord. But they never escape completely from the torments of the hardships. Scars are left, wounding a person deeply and so often permanently, and still others simply repress or mask their troubles which cause more, even psychological troubles. But with Christ Jesus our Lord, we not only are given a real peace that the world can NEVER give, but with Christ we are set free! As our Lord says in John 8:32,36 “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. . . . If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” We are set free from such hardships and burdens and pains, we no longer have to bear them on our backs as we come to Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour! As He promises us in Matthew 11:28-30 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Indeed, when we are in Christ Jesus, it isn’t as though we have nothing to do, or we can have such an easy life of relaxation just watching the world go by. Yet His yoke is easy, His burden is light. This is because by the Spirit of God, of our Lord Jesus Christ, we can bear it all!
When we come to Christ Jesus by faith, in salvation, and we walk in His Spirit, we have to remember: This isn’t us bearing these things, this is God Himself! When we are in Christ Jesus, we are not simply another person going through life. We have put on the Spirit of Christ Jesus Himself, and He bears it all for us! He is a protective covering for us! This is why our faith is also called a shield! This is why our Salvation is noted as a helmet! Our Faith, our Salvation, are protective coverings so that we can indeed bear all these troubles which come against us, all these hardships and fiery darts thrown at us, and any rocks that may fall on our heads! Note also this, that in the armour of God, we are told to have our feet “shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;” Knowing that our feet are shod with the gospel of PEACE, which is found in Christ, given by Him, as noted in today’s verses . . . let’s know of the shoes a Roman soldier wore in the days of Paul (as God gave His Words, through Paul). The Roman soldier had shoes, that underneath were large spikes which enabled the soldier to stand firm and not be pushed back by the enemy (I am sure they also were used to stomp on the enemy as well)! Our peace in Christ Jesus, given to us by Salvation through Faith, keeps us standing firm and not be pushed back by anyone! The only way we can go backward if we have such peace, is if we WILLINGLY take a step back! And let’s be sure that we DON’T take that step back!
We are encouraged in today’s first verse, that in Christ Jesus, we truly have a peace with God! In Christ, and ONLY in Christ Jesus, through Salvation by Faith, can we obtain such peace! Only by Christ Jesus can we have so many tribulations, troubles, hardships, even physical beatings . . . and still look up toward heaven with our eyes on our Strength and Peace and Hope, and keep smiling and praising God! We are not promised in our Salvation that we will not have problems in our lives, but rather we are promised to have the peace to go through and endure it! We are promised to be given in Christ Jesus, the peace that will keep us from being pushed back, and will help us to keep walking on, even though our enemy pushes against us! Praise God for Jesus, praise God our Father for such grace shed upon us, Salvation by Faith in His Son Jesus, and the peace that surpasses all else! Oh Praise God!
In the second verse for today, we are reminded that by Christ Jesus, as we stand in Him by way of Salvation by Faith, we have been granted access to the unlimited Grace of God Above! We have been given access to God’s Grace, and can rejoice in the Hope of the Glory of God! This is what keeps our eyes looking up and focused on Him as we go through the hardships in life: the Grace of God, the Hope of the Glory of God! This is how we can endure, by keeping our eyes on Him and His Glory. If we keep our eyes on the problem, then we will definitely lose sight of our strength and will fall under the pressure that we think is too much to handle. Keep your eyes on God, and you will see and understand that even the worst hardship you have faced, or ever will face, is still light as God is the one who bears them! They are not even worthy to be compared with our peace, strength, and the glory which shall be revealed in us! As said in Romans 8:18 “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” Praise God!
Being reminded of this, our Salvation and the peace of Christ Jesus given to us, let’s not forget to share it to the burdened souls who also have to go through hardships! Some may say the best thing you can do for a loved one who is going through a hard time in life is to offer to them your shoulder to cry on. Yes, this is true, we must offer our shoulders for support, but in addition to that, even better is to offer to them the saving knowledge of Christ Jesus, so that they can have the peace to go through it! If we care and want to help, show them Jesus our Saviour!
I love and continue to pray for you. Thank you also for your prayers, please continue to pray for me. I pray that our Lord God gives us all wisdom in our words as we witness to the lost, and that He gives us HIS words to be spoken out of our mouths. I pray that He guides us in all we do. May we never forget also that our own Salvation has given us such peace to go through the troubles, don’t believe for a second that even if we are in Christ Jesus we cannot bear the burdens. Know instead, that they are light, for God Himself is the one bearing our burdens for us! Oh Praise God who is our strength and peace through it all! May God Bless you greatly, and you be sure to have a wonderful day in the Lord our God and Father! | |
