God shouts in our pain. It would not be painful if there were not some part of our flesh nature dying. God often uses chronic pain to sculpt our lives...to form our character in Him, for the weaker we feel, the harder we lean upon Him and His strength. The harder we lean on Him during these times, the stronger we grow spiritually.
Can I live with pain sweetly, uncomplaining, free in heart to love and help others. In this place...will I continue to love God and to love His people? If I can and will, it is a supreme victory of God's Grace. Pain is often the experience of not receiving what you most need. It is a place of emptiness where you feel SHARPLY the absence of the love, of the place, or of the thing you most desire. Beyond this place of emptiness is a place in God's Presence where you are being held...in Love. You must trust that place where you are being held to be able to safely face the place of pain in your life. To go to that place of pain is truly difficult because you are confronted there with your wounds as well as with your powerlessness to heal yourself. You are so afraid of that place because it is a place in or near the "valley of the shadow of death."
When you find yourself in that place...and you are aware of your own personal pain, physical or emotional...let "your pain" be swallowed up in THE PAIN which Jesus suffered on the cross. It is a pain which all mankind knows and has known...but a pain for which Jesus paid a price that we may recover and yet...in the process...draw ever closer to Him.
There are three things about PAIN:
1. Everybody experiences it. No one escapes this life free of pain. It is part of the REALITY we each and all must face.
2. Along with death, pain is a solitary event. A parent, a mate, a friend may stand by and hold your hand...but PAIN is yours to bear alone. It has an isolating effect. Pain gets you "alone" with God, for ONLY HE can truly bear it with you.
3. Even pain has purpose. Designed to bring out the best in you and put you in a position to experience HIS BEST! Our weakness exaggerates His strength!
Pain is your friend...IF it drives you nearer to the heart of God. IF it makes you more reliant upon Him. IF you yield to Him in it so that it can conform you more perfectly to the image of His dear Son. God SHOUTS in our pain! C.S. Lewis said, "Pain is God's megaphone to rouse a 'deaf' world!" Hear His SHOUT! He is with you IN your pain.
Where does it hurt? Lift up your voice to God crying: "Lord, I want to glorify you...even IN my afflictions! Make me a testimony to others as I say with the Psalmist in Psalm 119:49-50 'Remember the word to Your servant, upon which You have caused me to hope. This is my comfort in my affliction, for You word has given me life!'"
With such an attitude...the Lord can give us strength to stand as He "sifts through the rubble of our lives and finds His pearls!"
My job is to take care of the possible and trust God with the impossible.

Right now my pain is so great it is almost unbearable. Emotional pain is a major enemy for me. I'd take physical over it any day. I give this all to Him right now. This writing has hit me deeper than you can imagine. All in HIS TIMING!!! God bless.
