God: What?

You: Sorry, Lord, I'm just worthless. It's so aggravating!

God: Don't call something that belongs to me, worthless! Let me ask you, would you call your fellow Christians worthless, or stupid, or treat them terribly the way you talk down to yourself?

You: No! Never!

God: And why not?

You: Because they're Yours! Beside in Your Word You warn against those who would do wrong to "the least of these," it's the same thing as doing it to YOU! I would never talk to YOU like that!

God: Let me ask you, do you think I'd want someone else to talk down to you like that?

You: No, because they'd be doing it to you!

God: So what makes you think I want YOU talking down to YOU like that? You're mistreating and talking down to a Child of God . . . aren't you?

You: ...

God: What makes it any different, if you talk so poorly of yourself and think so poorly of yourself, from if someone else were doing it to you? They'd be in the wrong . . . and you doing it to yourself, are doing it to ME just the same!

You: I'm so sorry, Lord. I didn't realize it. You're right, and I'm not going to do this to You anymore. I love You so much!

God: And you are Mine, and I love you! Never forget that . . .

AMEN! How often we're our own worse enemy. If God loves us how dare we do any less even with our faults and failings.

Very Very nice message here Micheal. Thanks so much for sharing it. I have experience with this problem from time to time as my self-esteem dwindles to nothing. There is no explanation as to why I get in these moods other than the fact that the serpent is trying to have his way with me. it is with friends and family that I run to during thiese times to help build that esteem back up and I have done that many times coming here.

Good post, we all are guilty of putting ourselves down, on a training course recently (for work) we had to talk about this because if we put ourselves down in front of others we are in effect giving them permission to do the same, it's a small step from belittling yourself to allowing someone else to belittle you.

It's not good in a work place and can be devastating in a relationship.
