| Behind the Scenes | | | | Today I was reading Ezekiel 1, and was so struck in awe of the description of the Spiritual vision the Lord gave to Ezekiel, as he described the angels and their going about, and the throne of God. - A whirlwind coming out of the north, with like a fire in the midst of it, enveloping itself twirling about
- Out of the midst came four living creatures that resembled the apearance of man
- They had four faces, and four wings
- Their feet were straight, like calf's feet, and they sparkled like burnished brass
- They had hands like men under their wings, and each had their four faces and four wings
- Their wings were joined, touching one another, and they moved straightforward, not turning but moving straightfoward all together like one.
- Their faces were: each had the face of a man (I suppose on the front); and on the right side the face of a lion; on the left side the face of an ox; and the face of an eagle (I suppose on the back)
- Their wings, stretched upward, two were always connected, or touching, the other, and two covered their bodies
- They each moved straight forward wherever the spirit was to go, and they never turned when they went
--- - The likeness of the creatures, was as it were bright, burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps, that went forth up and down among them; out of the fire went forth lightning as well
- The creatures moved like a flash of lightning too, this way and that
- As they moved you could hear the sound of their wings, which was like the sound of the voice of the Lord, great many waters (like a waterfall I always hear it -- Ezekiel 43:2 and Revelation 1:15) . . . which to me shows how the voice of the Lord is, when He speaks you feel the power, and yet at the same time it is calming like the waters as well . . . all encompassing yet gentle and calming. The angels' wings were the same way, powerful yet calming.
- When they stood, they let down their wings, and the voice of the Lord spoke
--- - Above them was the appearance of a firmament, the likeness of a sapphire stone throne, with the appearance of a man upon it
- And the color of amber, appearance of fire round about and within it, radiating from his center and outward, very bright like a glorious radiant fire;
A rainbow appeared overhead and round about Him . . . the Glory of the Lord God Almighty
All this . . . Just truly makes me bow down in reverend awe of the magnificence of the Lord. This, should be a reminder of the TRUTH and REALITY of the spiritual world, the invisible things as the Lord calls it. Behind the Scenes so to speak.
We SO often get SO caught up in living our lives with everything around us taking our thoughts and attention. We tend to forget to look beyond what we see . . . We tend to forget the important things, the things of the Lord, the Spiritual Life that is behind all of this that we see. We tend to see People instead of souls, People's actions instead of the spirits provoking/instigating/guiding such things, the temporary life here on Earth with it's troubles and necessities instead of the ETERNAL life that we all have (whether living eternally with the Lord, or in the lake of fire).
We need to remember this very important truth in the Word of God:
2 Corinthians 4:18 " While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal."
That's not to say that we completely ignore what's going on in the world physically though to where we cannot properly be used of God. Rather this is to say we do not forget to look upon what is REAL, what is ETERNAL . . . the things we see with our natural eyes are but for a moment. A single dot of ink in a neverending story. So what do we get worked up over . . . or let others get worked up over, or let control us or let control others. Do we not care for the ETERNAL, the REAL Life of those we see because they have their temporary lives to deal with, and we have our own temporary lives to deal with?
. . . Just some very important things to remember . . . Let's talk about it! Let's remember ALWAYS, to set our eyes on the right things . . . and be in awe of the amazing glory of the Lord!! | | | | | | | Posts: 3,687
