I am so glad that the church I attend, does not have dress codes. To them, it is more important that you are there, than it is what you wear. It is a rather large church, we average 425-450 each sunday, not a small church, but not a super-size church either. There are a few who really dress up, but a majority dress casually, that way, visitors do not feel intimadated bu everyone being dressed up. It is a shame when churchs have their priorities messed up and put more importance on dress policites, rather than spreading Gods word.

Thats how a church should be Rick in my opinion. I belong to a small church, less than a 100 at times, most of the time. I would suspect that the Pastor would not worry himself about what someone is wearing but assuming that would be wrong. I went to church last weekend and not a word of the situation was mentioned by anyone. I have forgiven him as I think I am supposed to do and he will now have to stand before our Lord and give an account for his reasoning as to why he did what he did.
That is surely the best attitude with all of this, Newt. He is not accountable to us on earth unless he has asked someone to do so. But those in ministry God holds to higher accountability and that is where is needs to be laid aside at.

Somewhere on my computer, I have this story about this "bum" who came to church and a lot of people where avoiding him and afraid to sit by him. Then when it came time for the sermon, the guy went up and started preaching, what the people did not know, was this was their minister.
I can only imagine what he preached about that day. I have been looking for the story since I had posted before and can not find it. I will keep looking though.
